And Starbucks is giving away a free coffee!
Who says there's no such thing as a free breakfast?
The bases are getting covered. Now, how about a ham and cheese or a burrito for lunch?
Hanging in my bedroom is a picture of my maternal grandma as a young woman. She was born in 1900. Another motivation for voting (especially women) and much more compelling than a free doughnut or cup of coffee would be to read about "The Night of Terror" on November 15, 1917, and what they did to Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, Dora Lewis and other women who picketed the White House carrying signs asking for the vote. Do it for them. Even real criminals aren't treated as brutally as they were.
Very good point, Lynda. I heard Jessie Jackson today reminding us how much blood was shed in the battle for civil rights and the Voting Rights Act. We forget how privileged we are, and where the privilege comes from.
